iPhone Controlled Solar Tank

This project allows you to control an RC tank via an iPhone, iPad or Android. It also has a solar panel so that it can be left in the sun to recharge.
One day while skateboarding around the SparkFun warehouse, I saw a super awesome japanese tank set, so of course I wrote down the part number, grabbed it off the shelf, went upstairs, purchased it and immediately started putting it together.

Unfortunately I quickly realized that controlling a tank via a laptop just doesn't feel right and since I had already spent a bunch of money on building the tank I didn't want to have to build a controller as well. So instead I set out to see if I could communicate with the tank using my iPhone.

Eventually I found the way cool, ever evolving TouchOSC app for the iPhone (which is also available for Android now).  Now of course the TouchOSC app was originally created for DJs and musicians to control their music, however OSC is a pretty simple protocol that can be read by Processing and in turn can be made to talk to an Arduino and therefore my tank.
